Song of the Month- September

ALONE BUT NOT LONELY- LUNA LI

I had to include a Luna Li song at least once for my song of the month. I've listened to her Duality album consistently over the course of this year. I also went to her concert with Mar, I think in October or November?

The Luna Li concert is a core memory. There was a song that Luna Li made into a meditation. The lighting was orange, the music was ethereal, the room was warm, and the audience was quiet. She told us to close our eyes, hold hands with the person we came with, and just listen to the music. I held hands with Mar, closed my eyes, and just listed in my head the things I was grateful for in my life. My home in Houston, my family, my friends, the education I've received. Also for my new home in the Netherlands, Mar (she is a soulmate), new friends, and the opportunity to go on exchange. I peeked at Mar and saw her crying but a content cry not a sad one. Core memory for sure.

I chose Alone but not Lonely because exchange has taught me the value of being alone. There are many moments in exchange where you are spending time by yourself. Many times it can feel lonely, but there are also times where you are having the best time alone, enjoying your own company. Alone time has helped me love myself more and be appreciative of who I am when there is no one else around. It feels great to enjoy being with yourself.
