boat trip !!

hey so today scala college had a boat trip and picnic for class 5. we kayaked to a plot of land that had a cute restaurant and lots of grass and trees. i kayaked with this girl Laila who is originally from the UK. when we got to the port, i thought there would be staff members or teachers helping us get out of our kayaks and canoes and rowboats, but no one was there lol. so kids were just helping each other get out of their boats and put them on the land. i wonder how the first person to reach the island knew how to get out of their boat cuz the pier was pretty high. and also how did they know how to get to the island? anyway, i sat with a group of kids and they seemed so sweet. there was this one time where a girl was talking about a guy that she had been talking to a while ago and how she thought he might've been gay, and then this boy was like "he could've been bi." and that kinda shocked me cuz my 16-year-old brother never would have mentioned that. people here are so open minded and vocal about it too. it's really cool to see people at such a young age like me all so thoughtful and that isn't like special. it's the way it's supposed to be. we drank soda and ate (you'll never believe it) sandwiches for lunch. i also heard there is a boy from Japan coming to scala so how exciting! another exchange student yay :) we got ice cream and Mila paid for mine which was so kind. she wants to apply to some college in the US like UGA and UAlabama so that was cool. Then, we rowed back which took forever cuz there are only two paddles, so one person was rowing 5 of us. luckily, the teachers picked us up and attached our rowboat to their motorboat and we were tailing them along with like 5 other rowboats so it looked funny. but then we were so slow that they let us go and we had to row the rest of the way. ya that was it. my classmates are honestly the sweetest. excited for first day of real school tomorrow.
