I finally got to visit Amsterdam last Tuesday with my friends. I took the train and met them at Schiphol airport, and then we took the bus to the Museumplein, where all the museums are located in Amsterdam. First, we went to a oliebollenkraam and Roos bought us oliebollen and appelflappen. Oliebol is like a dough ball with powdered sugar on top and they also have one with raisins in it and Nutella. Appelflap is an apple turnover, but mine was like an oliebol but with apple filling inside. Then, we went to the van Gogh museum for our cultural arts assignment for school. It was a really nice museum. I like how if focuses on van Gogh and his work over the course of his life. The museum, though, was super crowded and the tourists there were pretty annoying. For van Gogh's more famous works, people were standing in crowds trying to take a picture of it on their phone or a selfie with the paintings which was pretty embarrassing for them. After that, we went to this cute area of Amsterdam with lots of second-hand shops and cute restaurants. There was even this Korean place called SOJU bar which is cool. We went to this one thrift shop and I found this cute vintage sweater and bought it. After, we went back to Schiphol airport and had lunch. We had (surprise) sandwiches. They were good, though.
